Mia Mason Launches Historic Campaign in the 2024 Congressional Race (D-MD6)

Frederick, MD - July 9th, 2023 – Mia Mason, a dedicated veteran, human rights advocate, and community leader, officially announces her campaign for Congressional District 6 in Maryland. With an unwavering commitment to fiercely advocate for all Americans, Mia is ready to bring her grit, heart, wisdom, and prowess to the race. She is determined to positively impact the lives of her constituents and the country for decades to come. When elected, Mia will be the first trans woman to serve in Congress, or we hope, one of the first in a cohort of multiple trans women who are running in the 2024 race across the country.

We are fighting for a healthy democracy, the planet, our communities, and each valuable individual.”

Mia is committed to bringing those values to her work in Congress and to working against the ever increasing polarization we see today. Mia knows that this polarization increases violence and struggle, and believes in building bridges to safety, peace, and collaboration. This is no easy task; Mia isn't a billionaire nor was she given any silver spoons. Rather, her hard-won victories over life’s challenges and injustices in America has shaped her into a candidate who will move mountains. Mia is especially committed to bringing transformative growth to our education system, our infrastructure, and how we interact with our planet. 

Mia understands the urgent need for infrastructure development to support our growing communities. She will advocate for robust investments in public transportation to provide reliable and sustainable options for all. Mia supports the 2023 Farm Bill, is passionate about providing housing for all, and advocates for clean water and clean power. 

Mia recognizes the urgent threat of the climate crisis and has a comprehensive plan to reduce emissions, protect our environment, and create job opportunities with living wages for all. Mia supports the Green New Deal, and is passionate about addressing the issue of environmental racism and believes that all environmental and infrastructure policies must be built with intentional justice. 

Mia knows that quality education changes not only individual lives, but that it is the foundation for our country’s future. Mia has long supported Judy Center’s and the initiatives to advance kindergarten readiness. Mia supports equitable and respectable teachers’ salaries, eliminating student debt, and making higher education accessible for all.
